31 Days of Praying for Our Children

Summer is in full swing and sometimes it can be just as draining as it is fun!! We are entertaining little people all day and trying to make the most of the sunshine and freedom. I wanted to remind us that the most important way that we can invest in our kids is to pray for them.July Challenge_ Praying for Our Children

Why a 31 Day Prayer Challenge for Our Kids?

Prayer is dependency on God. He gave us these sweet babies and when we pray over them, we give all control over to God. It releases a lot of the worry, anxiety and fear we can have surrounding motherhood.

Next, summer can be a hazy, lazy loss of focus in so many ways. By focusing our spiritual energy in prayer, we refuse to get lazy in our battle against the worldly influences that want to seep into their hearts and minds.

Another thing, we can let them know we are praying for them. It will encourage them. And, maybe they will want to read the daily scriptures with you and join in. Or, maybe they have another child in mind to pray over.

Last, July is the perfect time to start praying over our kids as they prepare to get back to school, activities, sports, and other normal routines. Look at the other prayer resources below to keep praying for them all year long.

What is the 31 Day Prayer Challenge?

I put together a daily prayer challenge for us to intentionally spend time concentrating on praying a scriptural truth for our children each day in the month of July (or whenever you decide to do it).

If you are in on the challenge, simply download the free printable prayer cards here: Praying-for-our-children-printable or view them below. Note, the prayer cards having a companion scripture and suggested prayer format.

Finally, I would love to hear from you about how you pray for your children. Also, would love feedback on how the Lord is working during this month of prayer!!

And, sharing is caring so please share with you other Momma friends so together we can cover this next generation in intentional, scriptural prayers!!

Praying along side you always. XOXO Arrica

  1. Oh, I’m so excited to follow along again this year! Last year was such a blessing and I found so much peace with praying for the sweet little souls God has entrusted us to raise.

I am so excited to do this again this July! It was such a refreshing experience praying along side other mamas in unity over our kids! God used this time last year to focus my heart in praying specific truths over my children who didn’t have a relationship with the Lord. Now this summer I get to pray these prayers over them as followers of Jesus! God hears our prayers, mamas!

  3. I am so excited for this!! I did this month of prayer last year right after my daughter was born and it was such a precious time….praying over my baby girl in my arms each day in a more intentional way!! Now she is 1! And it will be a new experience but full of those memories!!
