I love the Psalms!
They are written by real people in the midst of real pain, struggles, joys, and triumphs. They convey so often the message of my heart that I am unable to communicate.
The Psalms also teach us much about the character and nature of God and about prayer, how we can communicate with God.
I think reading a Psalm a day should be a habit of every believer. I really hope that these free short devotions from the Psalms encourage you to dive in to really study and prayer through the Psalms on a regular basis.

Praying in the Psalms
As I mentioned, praying through the psalms is a very important practice of mine. Two books I would encourage you to look into that will help are listed a the end of these free resources.
Prayers in the Old Testament You Can Pray
Verses to Pray Before Bible Study
Books:
Lord, thank you that you are near to us when we call on you. I pray that as my fellow sisters in Christ study the Psalms that they will develop a deeper dependence on you. I ask that they will be convicted of reliance on self, of a lack of trust, and of prayerlessness. Give them your encouragement, peace, hope, joy, and love. Show them that you with them, for them, and always listening to their heartfelt prayers. In Jesus’ Name, amen!
