Wisdom in Proverbs for Moms Devotionals

Who doesn’t need more wisdom in motherhood? These 20 devotionals are written from the heart of moms to moms just like you and I based on the book of wisdom, Proverbs.

Each one has a focus verse, a bit of background, some guiding principal wisdom and a closing prayer. This would be a great devotion for individual quiet time or for a moms group to study and discuss together.

Why do we need more wisdom in motherhood?

No stage of motherhood is the same.

We need wisdom to make good decisions and set routines when we have babies.

We need wisdom to set boundaries and start discipline as our children hit the toddler years.

We need more wisdom as they start to ask questions and challenge us in the elementary years.

We need even more wisdom as they hit their teens and hormones and independence rage.

And, even though I’m not there yet, I know you need wisdom to let go, trust God and know when to speak as they reach adulthood.

We never outgrow needing God’s wisdom. God’s word is timeless and applicable at any age and stage. Dive in and see,

“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.” James 1:5 NKJV

A Prayer for More Wisdom in Motherhood

Lord, I want to be wise. I want to teach my children wisdom. Please grow me daily as I pray, confess sin, read and study your word, and seek to honor you with my life. Give me wisdom, knowledge and understanding to do Your will and follow your commands. I love you, Lord, and seek wisdom from above for motherhood, marriage, and daily living. Amen.
