As Christian mommas, we want to keep our families focused on Jesus, especially during the Christmas season. Last year, I created a Names of Jesus Christmas tree advent. It was very popular and a fun way to make our Savior front and center. This year, I have created another Christmas Countdown. This one is a daily activity countdown where your family will follow the Christmas start to Jesus.

Follow the Star to Jesus Activity Christmas Countdown

“Where is the One who has been born King of the Jews? For we saw His star in the east and have come to worship Him.”

Matthew 2:2

Our family would like to invite you on a Christmas activity countdown. Each day, beginning on December first to Christmas day, you will either put up or take down a star in a countdown to baby Jesus and Christmas day. The final day is a picture of baby Jesus that you can print and let the kids color.

Some people like to have the big picture like mine above to begin with and then take down each day to move closer to Christmas. Others like the anticipation to build as they near the end by adding a piece each day. Either way, it’s a fun way to involve the whole family and a great addition to help teach our children Christ at Christmas.

Activities On the Follow the Star to Jesus Countdown

Each day has a different activity that will help your family focus on living like Jesus. Some are intentionally spiritual in nature and others are fun ways to serve others or your own family.

Here are just a few of the countdown activities you will find:

-Sing Christmas carols about Jesus.

-Throw a birthday party for Jesus.

-Pray for a missionary to have a blessed Christmas.

-Drop a surprise Christmas gift to a friend.

If some activities don’t work for your family, be prepared to replace it with one that will. Because, the littles get pretty serious about completing their countdowns once you get started.

Tips for Printing

-Print on card stock for durability.

-If you want to print in black and white, use yellow card stock or paper.

-Make sure to print extra copies of page 13 for all of the kids in your house.
