We are in the home stretch of our tenth year of homeschool. I have four kiddos ranging in ages 6-14. I love that we homeschool and have so much time together. But, it does have its daily trials. These prayers are for homeschool moms and are tailored to the unique challenges that we face.
I have divided the prayers into sections to help you find what you might need for your situation. Of course, many of them can be prayed daily. Each section also has a scripture to encourage and provide a Biblical basis for the prayer.

7 Prayers for Homeschool Moms
I hope these prayers for homeschool moms encourage your heart and give you inspiration in praying intentionally over your day, your year, your children, and the directions your teaching is to go. I closed with a prayer specifically for you and pray that you find joy and peace in your homeschool journey.
Prayer for Jesus to Be First
But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
Matthew 6:33 ESV
When we seek Jesus first, all things will be added unto us. We read His word before we start our day, we seek His face and presence, and we realize that we can do nothing apart from Him.
Lord, help me put your first today. Let your will be done. If I need to change plans for you to be first, make me flexible. If I need to change my attitude, convict me and renew me. You are my King and Savior, I am committed to putting you first place in my life and in my homeschool day. Show me ways to show my kids your love and to speak your name to them often. In Jesus name I ask these things. Amen.
Prayers for Wisdom for Homeschool Moms
If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.
James 1:5 ESV
Prayers for wisdom are among some of the biggest requests I get from homeschool moms. Which curriculum fits us best, how to use our time, and dealing with BIG emotions from little people, are usually common questions. The good news is that we can ask for wisdom when making any choice and He will lead us to an aswer.
God, you are the source of all wisdom. I ask that you give me wisdom in my day. I need you to show me how to use our time, how to deal with discipline and behavior issues, and how to answer tough questions. Most of all, I need your word in my mind and heart, so that I will respond to my children’s emotions, struggles, and wins with the proper amount of grace, correction, and/or encouragement. With you wisdom, I believe that I can train my children up with an education that glorifies You and prepares them to serve You as they grow. Thank you Lord for wisdom.

Prayer for Energy
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might.
Ephesians 6:10 ESV
Homeschooling is mentally exhausting. My mind gets overwhelmed going from 5th grade math to 9th grade grammar and then over to 8th grade science. I’m sure you feel much the same. Plus, there are household chores and some of us have side jobs which makes us physically tired. We need supernatural energy.
Heavenly Father, I need your strength to get through my days. Some days, I am mentally, emotionally, and physically exhausted. But, I know that you can supply a never ending might through your power. Please keep me from getting burnt out, overwhelmed and angry,. Give me Your rest and rejuvenation so that I can faithfully give you and my children the best of me. Supply me with adequate sleep, physical rest, time to be alone with You, and emotional recharge. Thank you for promising me rest.
Prayer for Peace
You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.
Isaiah 26:3. ESV
All moms need peace in their life, but with a house full of kids all day and each one needing attention, homeschool moms have a special need for prayers of peace. This scripture reminds us that true peace is found in the Lord alone.
Lord, I want to be at peace in my heart and mind. I want peace in my home. Help me to keep my thoughts and mind on you and your blessed words so I can remain in peace. Even if my children get wild or our day gets chaotic, keep your perfect peace in my heart. Help me to remain calm and organized. Help me to trust you to work all things out for good. Amen.
7 Scriptural Prayers for the Frustrated Mom to Restore Joy
Prayer for Patience for Homeschool Moms
Patience seems to go hand and hand with peace. The more we rely on God’s peace; the more patient we can be with others. It is also an attitude of bearing problems in love and moving forward with our eyes on the end goal.
And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.
Galatians 6:9 ESV
Heavenly Father, you know how much patience I need on the daily. Help me to bear with these little ones in love. May my heart be soft toward their struggles, emotions, and failures. Remind me how patient and loving you are to me and give me that attitude toward my children. I need your supply of long-suffering and mercy in my own life. Thank you, Lord. Amen.
Prayer for Guidance
Life is a constant set of decisions. Whether it’s a family decision, school decision, or something that affects a single child, we always need guidance from the Lord on how to proceed.
I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you.
Psalm 32:8 ESV
Thank you, Lord, that you promised to instruct, teach, and counsel us. I trust you to lead us down the path of righteousness. Please give me wisdom and guidance from Your word and the power of the Holy Spirit as I make daily decisions and big life choices. I want our family’s school and education to reflect Your glory. Amen.
Bible Verses for the Homeschool Mom
Prayer for My Children
I am sure that you pray for your children often. This prayer is targeting the mind of our homeschooled children that they will be taught by the Lord and get the biblical worldview that we are pouring into them.
All your children shall be taught by the Lord, and great shall be the peace of your children.
Isaiah 54:13 ESV
Lord, thank you for giving me these children to raise and to teach. I pray that as I pour into them from your word that they will be taught by you. My heart’s desire is that the peace that comes from knowing you will guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus, so that they are prepared with truth in a world of lies. Give their hearts and minds the understanding and knowledge that comes straight from you. Amen.

A Prayer for You, Homeschool Mom
This prayer is from my heart to yours. I prayed this over every mom who would read this post. I admire you taking the initiative to train your children at home. Finally, I know your sacrifices and your trials, but I also know your satisfaction and the rewards you reap. You can also pray this over other homeschool moms in your life.
She opens her mouth with wisdom,
Proverbs 31:26-31 ESV
and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.
She looks well to the ways of her household
and does not eat the bread of idleness.
Her children rise up and call her blessed;
her husband also, and he praises her:
“Many women have done excellently,
but you surpass them all.”
Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain,
but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.
Give her of the fruit of her hands,
and let her works praise her in the gates.
Lord, thank you for this woman who is seeking to honor you by raising her children up in your truth. I pray Lord that when she opens her mouth, that your wisdom and kindness are in her words. I pray Lord that she uses her energy to run her household and rear her children for your glory. Also,I ask that you will bless her so that her children see it and her husband is proud of her. I ask, Heavenly Father, that she will fear you and seek you first. Bless the fruit of her hands and allow her good deeds to shine a light on Your goodness. Amen.

What an excellent article of encouragement for us homeschooling families! I can relate. Teaching 2 upper level math classes a day is getting a bit daunting given that I was personally never good at math!! But the LORD is my help :). Thanks for reminding us of Isaiah 54:13. What a glorious promise.
My pleasure. Yes, it is overwhelming at times, but so glad we have the Lord’s presence and help. Praying for you Momma.♥️
I loved how you highlighted the prayers for homeschool moms. Homeschooling is not so popular in my part of the world. But, I know it takes a lot of will, courage and God’s grace to pull it through. Thanks for sharing
