I attended an online retreat recently and one of the speakers asked a question something like this: Are we constantly moving because we don’t trust that God in His Sovereignty can work all things out? Like He can’t do it without me…
This was very convicting to me as I don’t sit still often. I am usually moving and if I do sit down, I am thinking, reading, planning, or doing something on my phone.
What stops me from taking pauses, being quiet, and just keeping my mind centered on God? Do I think He needs my help to keep my world spinning?
In Isaiah 26:3-4, I am reminded, “You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. Trust in the LORD forever, for the LORD GOD is an everlasting rock.”
It’s a reminder that perfect peace is possible, but it grows where our minds are anchored, so trust no performance is where we learn to rely on God’s steady, faithful nature.

Anchoring Truths for Moms
Let’s make it a little more personal: You (God) keep me in perfect peace when my mind is stayed on You, because I trust in You.
1. Perfect peace is possible—even in motherhood
God’s peace is not reserved for quiet seasons. It is available in the middle of noise, messes, schedules, and emotional weight. Peace comes from God’s presence, not from having everything under control.
2. Peace grows where the mind is anchored
When your thoughts are fixed on God’s truth rather than to-do lists, guilt, or worries, peace takes root. Re-centering your mind on Him—through prayer, Scripture, or worship—matters more than doing everything right.
3. Trust, not performance, brings peace
God does not promise peace to the perfect mom, but to the trusting one. Peace flows from leaning on Him, not from flawless parenting decisions.
This is a daily choice/ discipline. Trusting the Lord “forever” begins with trusting Him today—this hour, this conversation, this child, this decision.
4. God is steady when motherhood feels shaky
When routines fall apart, emotions run high, or the future feels uncertain, God remains an Everlasting Rock. Because God is your Rock, you are not meant to bear the full emotional, mental, and spiritual load of motherhood by yourself.
You can cast you cares on Him, because He cares for you! You can lay worries, fears, and unanswered questions at His feet.
5. Peace can be renewed moment by moment
“Stayed on You” is a continual posture, not a one-time achievement. Each time you redirect your thoughts back to God, peace can be restored again and again.
