FREE Printable Lunch Box Scripture Notes for Kids

Back to school, back to school! It’s coming up faster than we’d like to admit. If you are like me, you want your kids to be reminded of God’s love through out the day no matter what they may be facing. How about some nice scripture notes that you can put in their lunch box?

These scriptures are helpful to keep our kids focused on Jesus and remind them that they are not alone as they go through their days at school. Praying they are a blessing to you and your family, dear reader.

Why Scripture Notes?

Hebrews 4:12 NIV says, “For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.”

When we feed our children scripture, we are giving them God’s living words. It is able to encourage, inspire, correct, guide, and teach them.

And, its an opportunity for them to share the message with other children around them who may need the same encouragement or just need to hear of God’s love for the first time.

It’s also comforting for us as parents to send something with them when we can’t be around. It helps us to remember that God is with them and He is so much more capable of protecting and loving them than we are.

Teach them to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.” Deuteronomy 11:19 NIV

In addition to the pre-made 24 lunch box scripture cards, I have also included a page of blank ones. This is so you or your child can write their own favorite verses or memory verse of the week.

Here is a preview of some of the verses included:

  • The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.” Zephaniah 3:17
  • May the Lord direct your hearts into God’s love and Christ’s perseverance. 2 Thessalonians 3:5
  • Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans. Proverbs 16:3

One important thing I’d like to encourage, don’t forget to follow up. Ask them at the end of the day how the verse encouraged or guided them.

Here are a few ideas for conversation centering around the verses:

  • Did the verse help you remember to pray today?
  • Did the verse help you with any particular problem today?
  • How did your lunch box scripture note encourage you?
  • Were you able to share your scripture note with anyone else today?

  1. What an amazing idea, and so cute! I’m a volunteer with my high school’s Christian club, so I think I will use these with morning snacks on meeting days. Thank you so much!
