Hey Momma, there is no rush to win a race. We are not running against time, competing against others, or getting some special award for the most accomplished. In the end, there is only the quality of time that we put into raising the precious babies the Lord has given us to train up.
Come to me all ye that labour and are heavy laden and I will give you rest.
Indeed, there's rest in Christ Jesus. Life could be full of chaos and disorders, but a life in Christ should enjoy rest. He said, He will give us rest.
I want my kids to know that in Christ, there's rest. A way to enjoy rest is by having God's word as anchor in every situation and every circumstance in life.
As busy moms, it may feel like an extra bullet on the to-do list. It may feel like a chore. But, the truth is, Jesus is the only way and hope. God’s word and truth is what fills us up. Not TV, a good book or scrolling through the feed. When we allow His word, if only for a few minutes, to penetrate our hearts, we will be refilled, relieved, and redirected. So that when we do fall short of resting with Jesus and loving well, we can apologize in earnest humility to the ones we’ve hurt and try again next time.
It doesn’t matter that my toddler had been whiny, my preteen had been slacking on his school work, the sink had clogged for the millionth time, or that my old back injury was acting up. Regardless of outward circumstances, I wanted them to see a mom filled with the patience, joy and peace of Christ.
