My point is that as moms, we are always happy to get the gifts we receive. And, I know most of us would say, the real blessings are the givers! We truly believe that material things are not the best things in life. With that in mind, I'd like to submit to you the list of what we all really need this Christmas and hopefully it encourages you.
As busy moms, it may feel like an extra bullet on the to-do list. It may feel like a chore. But, the truth is, Jesus is the only way and hope. God’s word and truth is what fills us up. Not TV, a good book or scrolling through the feed. When we allow His word, if only for a few minutes, to penetrate our hearts, we will be refilled, relieved, and redirected. So that when we do fall short of resting with Jesus and loving well, we can apologize in earnest humility to the ones we’ve hurt and try again next time.
It doesn’t matter that my toddler had been whiny, my preteen had been slacking on his school work, the sink had clogged for the millionth time, or that my old back injury was acting up. Regardless of outward circumstances, I wanted them to see a mom filled with the patience, joy and peace of Christ.
